Privacy

Privacy Policy.

A plain-English explanation of what does (and mostly doesn't) happen with your data on this website. Last updated September 2026.

The short version

This site doesn't have a contact form, a newsletter sign-up, or an account system. The one thing it does use is Google Analytics, and only with your permission — nothing is set until you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. Reject it, or don't decide, and nothing changes about how the site works for you.

Who this policy covers

This policy covers theoliveboardcompany.com and theoliveboardcompany.co.uk, run by Natalie Muskett trading as The Olive Board Company, a sole trader based in Maldon, Essex, United Kingdom. It does not cover Etsy, Pinterest, Instagram, or any other site this website links to — each of those has its own privacy policy, linked below.

Cookies & Google Analytics

If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, this site loads Google Analytics, which uses cookies to help us understand which pages people visit and how they got here — including whether you came from Etsy, Pinterest or Instagram. We use this only to understand how the site is doing, never to identify you personally, and we've switched on IP anonymisation so your full IP address isn't stored by Google.

If you click "Reject," or simply close the banner without choosing, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page.

Google's own use of this data is covered by Google's Privacy Policy. If you'd rather opt out of Google Analytics across every site you visit, not just this one, Google provides a browser opt-out add-on.

What else this site collects

Nothing beyond what's technically unavoidable. This site has no contact form and no account system. Every font, image and icon on the site is served from our own hosting rather than a third party, so visiting this site doesn't share your data with any external service just by loading the page — aside from Google Analytics, and only once you've agreed to it.

What our hosting provider collects

Like virtually any website, basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested) are generated automatically by the web server that hosts this site, for security and operational purposes. We don't use this data for marketing or tracking, and we don't combine it with anything else to identify individual visitors.

Buying from us

All orders, payments, messages and shipping details are handled entirely through Etsy — this website never sees or stores any of that information. When you buy from us, you're doing so under Etsy's own Privacy Policy, which explains what Etsy collects and how it's used.

Links to other sites

This site links to our Etsy shop our Pinterest profile and our Instagram profile. Once you click through, you're on their site under their rules — we'd recommend reading their privacy policies too if you're curious.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to know what's held about you and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. If you've accepted analytics cookies, you can withdraw that consent at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the footer. For anything held by Etsy or Google, those rights sit with them for data on their platforms, and with us for anything we've noted down ourselves as part of fulfilling your order.

If this changes

If we ever add something else to this site that collects data — a newsletter sign-up, for example — we'll update this page to say so clearly.
