The Olive Board Company started in 2025 with a simple idea: make personalised olive wood boards, and make them properly, rather than spreading thin across lots of different products.
The Olive Board Company started with a simple realisation: olive wood is genuinely beautiful, and the way it's harvested — from the trunks of old trees that no longer bear fruit, and from branches pruned off fruiting trees, never by cutting a productive tree down — makes it a material worth building a whole business around.
Since 2025, I've kept things focused: olive wood only, no shortcuts, and wherever I can, finished with the help of small UK businesses — a local engraver, an independent gift-wrap supplier, and a small product photography studio.
Every board is one of a kind, built to last, and part of a longer story than just the piece on your table.
The engraver, in particular, is a one-man business too — which means smaller batches and closer quality control on every board than a larger firm could offer.
No laminates, no mixed timbers. What you order is a single, solid piece of olive wood, with the grain and colour variation that comes with real wood.
Personalisation is engraved once your order is placed, not pulled from a pre-made batch. It takes longer than stocking generic boards, but it's the only way to get it right.
We're based in the UK and currently sell mainly to customers here and in the US, with an eye on reaching more of the world as the shop grows.
The plan is to keep growing The Olive Board Company into a full-time business — more designs, more personalisation options, and eventually reaching customers well beyond the UK and US. For now, every order is placed through our Etsy shop, where you can see current sizes, styles and turnaround times.
